Presenter John Harding is a Lead Assessor and has extensive management systems experience who provides an in-depth practical knowledge of the implementation and auditing of both Environmental Management Systems and Scientific solutions addressing compliance with environmental legislation in RSA.
The course is structured in two main aspects. Understanding ISO14001:2004 EMS and legislation (CBS30) and the second part ISO 19011 Auditing, followed by the SAATCA exam which is held on the Friday.
The Objective of this course is designed to provide the delegate with a detailed exposition of SABS ISO 14001:2004 and details of environmental legislation and the effects of waste and pollution, the phases of environmental systems assessments, planning performance and follow-up and an understanding of corrective action and its implications
The course will give as much simulation to an actual audit as is practically possible in a classroom situation and includes extensive syndicate exercises and group work.
The Outcome by attending this workshop you will learn how to:
q Understand the details of ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems
q Understand how to obtain a register of environmental legislation
q Assess and list environmental effects
q Audit the requirement in accordance to ISO 19011
q Plan and conduct external and internal environmental management system audits
q Write deficiency statements and assessments reports/ advise on corrective actions
A SAATCA exam will be held and a certificate will be issued based on results
